This will be my 5th year teaching, and my first year at Peterson Elementary. For the past 3 years, I taught Jr. High grades 6th-8th (6th grade Math, then Reading Specialist), and I'm incredibly excited to teach fourth grade. I look forward to getting back to elementary grades, and building the strong educational foundations students will need for their academic careers and beyond.
I moved to Klamath Falls with my fiance for his job on Kingsley Field ANG Base, in June 2015. My fiance and I love the town, and enjoy the beautify scenery.
I grew up in the EastBay of the SF Bay Area. Throughout my childhood, I was very active in organized sports and activities: basketball, track, tennis, swimming, girl scouts, jazz, ballet, tap, Hawaiian, cheer leading, and soccer. Soccer was my favorite, as I played consistently for 11 years, year around. I have also always loved school, although it was not a piece of cake, I prided myself on being a hard worker. Throughout high school, I had wonderful teachers, who helped solidify my dream of becoming a teacher. When I graduated, I moved to Sacramento to attend Sacramento State University and was admitted into the Blended Program, a program dedicated to speeding up the 6 year process of becoming a teacher to 4.5 years.
I graduated with a degree in Liberal Studies from California State University Sacramento and then continued at Sac State to acquired my CA K-8th grade teaching credential with Authorizations in ELA, Math, and History. I went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Education concentrating in Instructional Technology from Lesley University.
Three and a half years ago, I spent a year and a half in Seoul, South Korea teaching English as a foreign language at a public elementary school, grades 3rd-6th. As I was teaching in a second language to my students, I learned valuable strategies and methods for student success in reading and writing of the English language.
I enjoy reading, as well as, exercising, and going on fun Day-Trips/Adventures. I love traveling, meeting new people, and learning of all kinds. Most of all, I love to teach.
